Senior IT Project Manager (infrastructure). A claims management firm are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager (infrastructure) to join the team.

This role will suit an individual with experience running complicated projects across a wide range of technology streams in an organisation providing consultancy and technology services as a key supplier.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end project management and professional implementation of IT business solutions and will have a proven record of success. Strong teamwork and analytical / problem solving skills are required to ensure effective delivery of these projects.

You will be an effective, authoritative leader who inspires confidence and respect from the internal teams, customers and suppliers, building strong interpersonal relationships and conveying personal effectiveness to achieve goals.

The Senior IT Project Manager (infrastructure) will:

  • Identify internal and external resources, whether financial or human, in order to deliver the project successfully
  • Accept and close projects in distress or which contain significant management on client sites
  • Support the EMEA IT Manager
  • Evaluate the progress of project on regular basis and take proactive steps to resolve any risks or issues
  • Set realistic and practical goals for the project. Moreover, they should also develop appropriate strategies for achieving these goals
  • Manage the commercial aspects of the project both in terms of the client and internal
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the team members about every aspect of the project so that the team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently
  • Initiates and flags investigation of issues arising in Project Management engagements
  • Supports "continual improvement" of self and the team
  • Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy for ensuring communication with all levels of management within the team
  • Assume PM responsibilities on assigned projects being run within the team
  • Work closely with the nominated project sponsor, business owner and the wider business to ensure project needs are delivered
  • Organise and chair project & steering meetings and Coordinate and chair stakeholder meetings & workshops 
  • Manage and work within cross functional project teams made up from the IT team (regional & GDC), Business Change & business reps (UW, operations, claims, etc.) and vendors
  • Run projects during the early feasibility and initiation process to ensure the objectives, benefits, delivery method and resource/costs are agreed and understood
  • Manage project budgets with the agreed procedures and ensure project governance is followed and approvals obtained, including the annual planning process
  • Maintain project artefacts (charter, plan, risk/issues log, status reports, requirements document etc.) and progress projects in accordance with the defined PMO standards
  • Promote the best PM practice and standards within the IT, PMO areas and assist with driving improvements
  • Conduct business analysis activities and compile business analysis artefacts as required

The Senior IT Project Manager (infrastructure) will need:

  • Relevant Project Management experience with IT projects 
  • Proven Working experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
  • Demonstrated history of working closely with both business partners and technical teams
  • Business Analysis experience
  • Experience working with vendors 
  • Insurance experience (preferable) although experience in other sectors can be considered 
  • PRINCE 2 practitioner is advantageous 
  • Agile qualification (e.g. Scrum Master, Agile PM or equivalent).
